The kingdom’s eastern has suffered from terrorist attacks blamed on Islamist mititants in its northern province of Cabo Delgado since October 2017, resulting in hundreds of deaths and more than 300,000 displaced persons.
According to the Mozambique news agency Club Mozambique, the support was expressed in a meeting on Wednesday (30 October 2020) between President and a delegation representing King Mswati III.
“His Majesty the King will always be with the Mozambican people. Eswatini is ready to help, in whatever it takes to help end the problem,” Gamedze said.
Mgwagwa Gamedze, a former minister of Foreign Affairs recalled that Eswatini and Mozambique share a border, demanding concerted action in combating problems such as terrorism and Covid-19.
