Eswatini debt stock surges ahead

ESWATINI debt to external creditors has jumped by over a $100 million over the past 10 years. External debt stood at $631.3 million compared to $524.2 million in 2009, the World Bank says.

In its latest International Debt Statistics, the World Bank shows long term disbursements rising from $14.7 million in 2009 to $142.5 million in 2019. However principal repayments have almost stayed the same, at $35 million in 2009 and $35.4 million in 2019.
